A pekara is open early, cheap, and on every second corner. It is also the easiest place to have your first successful conversation in Serbian, because the whole exchange is four sentences long.
One word, two countries
Burek. In Serbia it's the pastry, and you name the filling: burek sa sirom, sa mesom. Further west it means the meat one only — the cheese one is sirnica.
